Dunedin Family Session at Honeymoon Island | The Pano Family

Some sessions are extra special because the people in front of my camera have been part of my story for years. The Pano family’s session at Honeymoon Island in Dunedin was one of those.

I've known Emily since middle school, and what started as a friendship in those early years has grown through high school and into a lifelong friendship spanning more than 20 years. We've shared so many chapters of life, and getting to document the family she's built is something I don't take for granted.

For this session, I got to spend time with the Panos at a favorite local spot: Honeymoon Island. With the beach as our backdrop, it was the perfect setting to slow down, enjoy time together, and capture this season of life as it is right now.

I love family sessions that leave room for kids to be kids and families to simply be themselves. The best photographs often come from the in-between moments — the laughter, the little interactions, the hugs, and all the ways a family shows their love without even realizing it.

Emily, I'm so grateful that our friendship has continued to grow through all these years and that I get to be the one documenting moments like these. Here's to all the memories we've made, the ones still ahead, and the privilege of capturing a few along the way.
